TINTEÁN: An Interactive Installation to Encourage Exploration of the Everyday
Files
Abstract
This Culminating Experience project involved the composition, construction and operation of an interactive multimedia art installation. Visitors to this installation heard a musical piece when inside the installation, and were able to physically interact with various objects placed within. These interactions triggered changes to the music heard. The purpose of this project was to encourage exploration and curiosity in everyday settings. All music used in the installation was original, and the interactions will be mapped to changes in the music using a combination of hardware sensors (light, pressure, capacitance) and software (Arduino, Ableton Live). The space used was fashioned to resemble a campsite, in particular those found at typical camping music festivals, using objects commonly found in these spaces.
