Abstract
As a music education major at Berklee, you’ll learn to apply cutting edge pedagogical practices driving the future of education. You’ll acquire the skills to help your students achieve their full potential by studying the methodologies in general musicianship and performance techniques. You’ll gain real world experience working with a community of musicians, faculty, and professional educators in Boston’s diverse public school environment, all while earning a bachelor's degree. The Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs is a catalyst for the inclusion of individuals with special needs in all aspects of performing and visual arts education. We have three main areas of our work: (1) Arts Education Programs for people with special needs, ages 3 to adult; (2) Graduate Programs and Undergraduate Courses in the area of arts education and special needs; and (3) Professional Development for educators, artists, and others in the field.
