Abstract

The purpose of this research paper is to explore the quieter oeuvre of Williams’ film scores, as well as the key concepts that shaped this stylistic side of his over the last three decades. The topic is approached by selecting and analyzing a specific sample of movies, all scored by Williams. The paper will then put the movie specific findings into relation with each other, demonstrating reoccurring patterns in the composer’s scoring approach.
