Abstract
The project which is deeply rooted in a personal and cultural response to a massive earthquake and its influence in my home country, Japan. Certain aspects of traditional Japanese culture are disappearing due to recent earthquakes and Tsunami. This project is to advocate for these important traditions through music that blends global jazz and traditional Japanese music. Countries are being disconnected to avoid the negative environmental influence from other counties. Thus, the goal of this project is that people around the world be proud of themselves and join hands with others to create “one” future. With the aGtude of preserving the old and nurture the new, we want to create a beautiful future that cares the past. In order to achieve this goal, I used the aspect of Japanese court music, Gagaku with the Global Jazz.
