Abstract

This work is essentially a practicum in contemporary electronic dance music production. The primary objective is to compose original music, utilizing innovative production and sound design techniques, and combining compositional devices and structures from throughout the entire spectrum of dark electronic music. The stylistic goal of this music is to synergize components of dark psychedelic trance (darkpsy) and hard techno in an effort to illustrate the shared ethos at the core of each genre.
