Abstract
“The Old Man and the Sea” is a project based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway. This 3 - minute piece which is the culminating experience of one year of hard work as a masters student of Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games at Berklee College of Music. The piece was originally composed to stand without picture, however, after finishing the recording and mixing process, a video was added to the music.
During the course, I gained the crucial skills, including writing idiomatically for instruments, orchestration, building mockups and creating score, conducting recording sessions, and mixing; all in order to complete the final thesis project, which is the most important music project that I have done so far.
