Abstract
This thesis explores the creation of an original hybrid score for an advertising film featuring a collaboration between an athletic brand and an Olympic athlete. It explores the process of writing music for a film that is dialogue-heavy, centred around the narration supporting the emotional weight while not intruding or competing with the narration at any point. It outlines the entire process of the idea from music preparation, composition, recording, post-production and mixing from start to finish, including the orchestration choices, the live recording session, and the technical decisions made to balance clarity and emotion, resulting in a piece that's both commercially accessible and emotionally resonant.
