Abstract
Music therapy is increasingly used in pain alleviation at any age, in many pain conditions and in different cultures. This review aims at reporting empirical and evidence-based studies on music therapy, on the methodological issues of this non-pharmacological approach, and on the possible mechanisms of action of music therapy on the well-being of patients with pain.
