Abstract

Mimesis is a musical exploration into the concepts of imitation and simulation. Based on the writings of Jean Baudrillard, I aimed to create a 6 song EP with thought-provoking lyrics and "hyperreal" sound design. It blends folk music and psychedelia in chamber-pop style mixes. The project involved experimentation with Bitwig Studio, modular synthesis, writing constraints, acoustic simulation, and convolution among other things.
