Abstract
This CE is about placing the harp in new music styles, showing that this ancient instrument can be also played as a contemporary instrument in any music ensemble. For this, I had to learn and play with diverse musicians from different backgrounds, countries, traditions and music styles. The journey was challenging and invited me to open new perspectives and discover new ways of playing the harp, among this exploration I develop new techniques in the harp and write notation for them, this knowledge is useful for any harpist and composer, doesn’t matter the style or music backgrounds, some of the traditions I explore as a Persian and Peruvian artist are the traditional music from northern India, Iran, Spain and develop knowledge in extended techniques and jazz.
