Environmental Advocacy through Music

Abstract
This project tells the story of an individual with backgrounds and talents in the sciences and arts and his first attempt to unite the two in one project. It is an episode of my artistic development where I focused on the natural environment, something that is rich in both science and art, and attempted to protect it by influencing society to action. In the artistic, “right-brained” component, I used music to tell stories relevant to climate change with the intention of moving audiences to act more for the environment. In the scientific, “left-brained” component, I performed informational interviews with experts in the field of sustainable events and festivals and summarized my findings so that I can practice my art in a more sustainable manner in the future. Throughout the process, I pushed my creativity to include storytelling and activism in my craft, I took the first steps to achieving carbon neutrality in my career, and I learned how to unify my background in science with my artistic identity.
