Space Sluts : The Artistic Identity of Madi Cox
Files
Abstract
The purpose of this project was to continue to develop my artistic identity by strengthening areas of my artistry that would help to build the Space Sluts brand. With Space Sluts being such a visual performance idea, I wanted to solidify visuals to accompany that image and become more familiar with various types of technology to add into my live set and to use as tools while developing my production skills. I also wanted to continue the conversation around highlighting more women in the music industry, with a focus on women in music technology. In the current climate of social media, having a solid image and performance style feels necessary to build a fanbase and give yourself an edge in marketing yourself. During this academic year at Berklee, I’ve learned how to use and incorporate new technology into my live set that I feel will help my artistic identity stand out.
