Abstract
Research exploring the intersection of policy and live music begins with a broad question: what policies influence the live music ecosystem? The objective of this research is to identify and examine those policy factors and critically assess both their contents and implementation to provide a framework for all stakeholders to understand the most important policy considerations when it comes to live music. By performing a regulatory assessment of the policies and implementation tactics of mature live music markets of selected cities known worldwide for their successful and vibrant live music scenes, this research aims to discern what policy considerations and strategies are instrumental in nurturing a vibrant live music scene.
