Abstract
The project explores the author's transition from DJ to produced artist, proficient in live EDM performance with live instruments and music production. The primary objective is to deliver a forty-minute live performance integrating live instruments, showcasing genres such as Drum and Bass, Tech House, and Deep House, alongside two other performers. This endeavor represents a pivotal moment in the author's career, contributing significantly to the live performance EDM genre. The author incorporated live artists, drum machines, and DJ turntablism into the live set. Outcomes include the live performances, seven remixes of non-original content, and three original songs, demonstrating the author's new capabilities. The most challenging aspect was applying music theory to the remixes and original songs while performing and rehearsing with live performers, and ensuring all technologies and MIDI devices were played correctly during the performance. The author acquired essential skills in music production, arrangement, live performance, DJ turntablism, and developed new industry relationships, resulting in a more well-rounded producer and performer. This project marks a significant milestone for the author and enhances the live performance aspect of EDM.
