Abstract
This Culminating Experience explores the fusion of techno with traditional Spanish and Serbian music, aiming to create a unique EP that bridges electronic and folk genres. The project addresses the problem of underrepresentation of Balkan and Spanish folk music in the global techno scene. The most important aspect of this project is the innovative fusion of these distinct cultural elements with modern techno production. By incorporating rhythms, melodies, and instrumentation from Spanish flamenco and Serbian folk music, the EP introduces a fresh perspective on how traditional music can be preserved and transformed within contemporary electronic frameworks. This cross-cultural approach enhances the diversity of techno while offering a new listening experience that appeals to a broader audience. The EP seeks to enrich techno with new cultural influences, giving underrepresented music traditions a platform in the global electronic music landscape.
