Abstract
This project focuses on the production and release of an experimental hyperpop EP titled CRISTAL.The EP features original music composed and produced solely by the author, where the aim was to develop a sound that feels smooth, balanced, and consistent from beginning to end, so that all the songs fit together naturally and form a unified whole, while also bringing in inspiration from Argentinean culture through the use of specific sounds and instruments. Key challenges included achieving a balanced vocal mix that holds space within dense, textured arrangements, and crafting a compelling narrative through minimal yet evocative lyrics. To address these challenges, it was very helpful for the author to create demo versions of each track early in the process. This allowed her to explore the structure and overall sound before recording vocals, enabling more informed decisions about how the vocal elements would fit within the production. This paper was written with the assistance from generative artificial intelligence. Additional information in Appendix II.
