J.P. Ovens - Baymax and Hiro's First Flight

Abstract

“Baymax and Hiro’s First Flight” is a rescore of a scene from the 2016 Disney animation Big Hero 6. This flight sequence is adventurous, exhilarating, heroic, and heartfelt. The score was created to support these feelings as well as the actions on screen. This thesis covers the journey of the Berklee Valencia Culminating Experience project. The layout of this essay is in chronological order. The first few sections explain the process of everything that has happened leading up to the actual composing. It is then followed by a breakdown of the compositional analysis, the AIR Studios recording session, and post-production work.
