Abstract
The Wild-hearted Two is an orchestral score for Bilby (2018), an animated short film produced by DreamWorks. Even though the original score was already composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, I took the opportunity to present my own interpretation of the film and create a rescore as part of my Culmination Experience at Berklee Valencia. In this thesis, I aim to describe the main criteria for selecting this picture, its challenging aspects, the compositional process and analysis, the recording experience at AIR Studios, postproduction, and reflections on possible future steps. While describing my creative process, my main aim was to embrace musical storytelling through various emotions and precise timing, ensuring coherence with the picture, as this 3-minute-long film offers a complete story arc and a vivid palette of expressions.
