Tears of Steel Trailer

Abstract
This thesis presents the creation of an original trailer music project, developed as a fully self-managed audiovisual production. The work includes video editing, composition, sound design, score preparation, printing and organizing parts, conducting, and final mixing, with the exception of the original filming. Rather than approaching the process solely from the perspective of a composer, this project expands into a broader production role, integrating both musical and visual decision-making. The trailer is constructed around the idea of cinematic tension and large-scale narrative progression. The music focuses on continuous forward motion through harmonic expansion, frequent modulation, and delayed resolution, allowing intensity to build gradually over time. Instead of relying on traditional formal closure, the score prioritizes direction and momentum, reflecting the aesthetic language commonly found in modern trailer music. This project reflects an interdisciplinary approach to music production, where composition, editing, and post-production are treated as interconnected processes within a single workflow. It demonstrates how trailer music functions not only as a musical style, but as a form of audiovisual storytelling shaped by timing, structure, and emotional trajectory.
