Abstract
This thesis paper serves as a journal and reflection on the Culminating Experience project, Krungthep Amara Nakara (Bangkok, the Immortal City), a musical composition accompanying a short film compiling footage of Bangkok city, featuring the poem “กรุงเทพฯ” (Bangkok) by Naowarat Pongpaiboon. It documents and explains each stage of the project, from the project’s conceptualization to planning and composing the music, as well as the recording and post-production. The objective of the composition is to express my voice as a composer, along with incorporating subtle references to traditional Thai music, bringing to life the poem, and contributing to the film. The paper also discusses the challenges encountered during the process and how they were navigated.
