  • the exit by Tasio Errazuriz

    the exit

    Tasio Errazuriz
    2025

Tasio is a British songwriter, producer and artist. In his time at BerkleeNYC he has developed the 7 track EP project, “the exit”. The themes of the project touch on identity, relationships and self-reflection. This project is in the synth-pop genre and is a coming of age story. The project was made along the course of the artist’s time at BerkleeNYC and was completely self written and produced by Tasio. His distinct unique cohesive sound is categorised by driving beats, honest songwriting, and distinct vocal delivery. A proposed unique marketing technique for the EP involves a guerrilla marketing campaign through the distribution of merch items with Tasio’s brand logo and with a QR code in the tag to subliminally percolate through people’s wardrobes and also generate further intrigue into the artist behind the merch and the music accessed through the QR codes.

  • Machine Gun Writer by Mark Filipov

    Machine Gun Writer

    Mark Filipov
    2025

This paper will be covering the complete scope of the five songs inside this Culminating Experience Project titled “Machine Gun Writer.” First, a macro observation of the project, followed by a more granular view of it’s inner workings and dynamics. Next, an overview of the skills improved over the course of this project, and the challenges that hindred Machine Gun Writers completion. After laying out the marketing plans for the roll out of the project, the paper will conclude with final thoughts on the project and the program Machine Gun Writer is a singer/songwriter EP consisting of five songs with strong roots in folk that branch out into alternative rock. The majority of the recordings took place outside of the studio, instead finding their creation in the closet of a Hell’s Kitchen apartment. The production, mixing and mastering- in line with the program’s want to keep music creation in the box, has been done completely in Ableton. The instrumentation mainly consists of acoustic guitars, electronic bass, vocals and light percussion elements consisting of live and electronic samples. The plug in’s used in the production, mixing, and mastering are almost entirely limited to UAD emulations of analogue gear, Ozone 11, and stock Ableton audio effects.

    over love

    Quinn Furgueson
    2025

I accidentally met someone who gave me the happiest year of my life, and I was given a choice: get a computer science job and never live outside of Connecticut, just so I could be close to her, or take the gamble on graduate school, take the gamble on music, on our relationship, and move to New York. This project is the story of us, of her and I, immortalized forever. From our unexpected encounter that sparked something between us, to some of my greatest highs and lows, to the end of it all, because sometimes life just gets in the way.

  • Drifting Boy by Zhongyu Fu

    Drifting Boy

    Zhongyu Fu
    2025

“Adrifting Boy” is a concept EP that explores the emotional turbulence of a young man navigating love, loss, and identity across cultures. Combining Chinese and English lyrics, the songs blend R&B textures with ambient and electronic influences, creating a floating, melancholic atmosphere. The project documents my personal journey as an international student and male artist in New York, using whispered vocals, delicate harmony, and layered production to reflect inner conflict and moments of quiet vulnerability. Each track is built around a core emotion and a visual scene, forming a cohesive narrative about distance—emotional and physical—and the search for belonging.

  • The Good Stuff by Jeremy Gay

    The Good Stuff

    Jeremy Gay
    2025

There’s a certain joy that comes from not overthinking, a groove found in simplicity, a spark in ease. The Good Stuff lives in that space. Three simple words that could mean many things. In this case, they carry the story, feelings and passion of a group of friends living in New York. Emerging from a year of artistic growth, this six-track EP reflects Jeremy Gay’s development as a producer and collaborator, shaped by the energy and creative freedom of his time in the city. Its tone is laid-back but intentional, rooted in hip-hop’s tradition and shaped by a blend of live textures and digital production. Created in close collaboration with Felix Gomez (lyricist, vocalist, and bassist) and Matteo Scheidegger (guitarist), The Good Stuff captures a specific moment, one marked by trust, experimentation, and the joy of making music together without forcing it. It’s a snapshot of a process more than a product: playful, honest, and full of movement.

  • Madame X/The Brain That Wouldn't Die by Brandon Grayson

Madame X/The Brain That Wouldn't Die

    Brandon Grayson
    2025

When rumors swirl about John Singer Sargent’s secret romance with his male muse, the famed painter hatches a bold plan: paint the most beautiful woman in Paris and let the world believe she’s his lover. But the cover-up backfires, igniting a scandal that threatens his art, his love, and his legacy. In 1880s Paris appearances are everything, and homosexuality and divorce are taboo. In this show, each character must choose: live within the safety of a facade, or live authentically and risk everything./The Brain That Wouldn’t Die is a musical adaptation of the 1962 sci-fi cult-classic film. A surgeon named Jan wishes to be recognized for her intellect rather than her beauty, a wish that takes an ironic turn when she is decapitated in a car accident. Her mad scientist husband, Bill, then manages to bring her head back to life, setting in motion a 72-hour race against time to find her a new body. Fueled by B-movie camp and a retro-modern score, this show is a hilarious, satirical take on the absurd pursuit of perfection.

    Lisa Guo
    2025

Things I Shouldn’t Have Said is a 5-song alt-pop EP the debut release of Lisa as a solo artist. Sonically rooted in a blend of rock, electronic, R&B, indie, and dream pop, the project merges textured, atmospheric production with introspective, cathartic songwriting that leans into confessional honesty. Three of the five songs were co-written, and two involved collaborative production, while the remaining tracks were solely written and produced by Lisa, which makes the EP a balance of personal storytelling and creative partnership. Across all tracks, the lyrics confront complex emotions with rawness and unfiltered candidness, pushing into a space that’s called “brutal honesty”.

  • The Cardboard by Hyunkyu Han

    The Cardboard

    Hyunkyu Han
    2025

The Cardboard is a multidisciplinary creative project that explores personal storytelling through original music, visual identity, and performance. Motivated by a desire to articulate my identity as a bicultural artist, I used cardboard as a metaphor for resilience and transformation—taking something humble and turning it into something expressive. The project includes five original songs combining jazz fusion, funk, hip-hop, and R&B, each built with distinctive rhythmic approaches such as metric modulation, swing grooves, and improvisation. To support the narrative and sonic identity, I crafted hand-built cardboard instruments for the album visuals and explored analog textures in the production. Deliverables include an EP, multitrack session files, music videos, and a strategic artist branding map. Throughout the process, I refined skills in mixing, songwriting, and visual storytelling while embracing unexpected challenges in aligning cohesive visuals with a genre-blending sound. This project serves as a model for integrating handmade aesthetics with digital production, offering a blueprint for emerging artists who aim to blend cultural roots with modern expression.

  • Where She Floats by Mingqi Han

    Where She Floats

    Mingqi Han
    2025

"Where She Floats" is a title that captures the emotional and sonic essence of my culminating Experience project, both in its sound design and lyrical storytelling. It paints a world that I float in — suspended between feelings, memories, and imagination. The five songs in this culminating experience project explore themes of unrequited love, self-love, and school life. "Where She Floats" tells the story of soft-core dreams of a cyber girl. “Softcore” reflects the emotional softness, daydream-like quality, and gentle textures in my sound. “Cyber Girl” represents the version of myself shaped by the internet era: expressing emotion through technology, filters, and fragments of digital memory.

The story follows Blue, a young man full of soul fire searching for his purpose who embarks on an inner voyage of he was, is and who he's becoming. Guided by three quirky muses, Melody, Harmony and Cadence - this tale is all about musical relativity. Using a symphonic fusion score merging blues, jazz, gospel, r&b and hip hop, this musical invited listeners into a vivid world of art, language and legacy. You can only make the blues if you live it.

  • Garden of the Asylum by Qingyang He

    Garden of the Asylum

    Qingyang He
    2025

Garden of the Asylum is a multi-disciplinary live music performance that merges music and visual storytelling. More than a tribute to Van Gogh’s art, it is an exploration of art, emotion, and the human psyche. As co-producers, we draw inspiration from Van Gogh’s emotional world, using music to retell his passion for artistic expression and the strong emotions that shaped his artworks and continue to resonate today. In an era of rapid change, more people experience similar psychological states. Through this performance, we seek to build a bridge where audiences do not merely observe art but engage with it on a personal level—seeing their own emotions reflected and experiencing how art becomes a medium for emotional connection and self-exploration. Using a garden as a metaphor, we envision Van Gogh’s emotions blooming like flowers in his mental landscape, taking form through music, visuals, and lighting. The performance unfolds in three interconnected movements—Solitude, Self-Doubt, and Paranoia—each led by a musician (JOSEPH, Jilly!, and Kéquetz) whose original compositions not only interpret Van Gogh’s emotions but also reflect their own artistic and personal experiences. Each section begins with a visual or soundscape piece, serving as a transition that immerses the audience in the upcoming emotional state. The stage design integrates scrim projection, multi-layer lighting, and immersive soundscape, enhancing the emotional depth of the performance.

  • Anime Odessey by Yuqing Hong

    Anime Odessey

    Yuqing Hong
    2025

This creative project explores the intersection of fantasy anime and technical rap through five original compositions that fuse iconic anime tropes with personal memoir. By adapting themes of perseverance, existential courage , and identity crisis , the songs employ polyrhythmic flows and lyrical wordplay to mirror anime's narrative complexity. Each track uses sonic metaphors—sampling Japanese vocaloids, chiptune melodies, or orchestral battle themes—to evoke emotional resonance between fictional trials and real-life struggles. Through thematic analysis and musicological examination, the project demonstrates how anime archetypes can serve as transformative lenses for personal storytelling in hip-hop, bridging cultural divides while amplifying universal human experiences.

With his EP titled “Who You Are”, Peter Horton examines his relationships and travels abroad to look within and find who is at the core and how to live most authentically. He combines these themes with his love of 80’s music, setting these stories against a backdrop of New Wave inspired synthpop music. • Can't Boys Be by Bryan Jeong

    Can't Boys Be

    Bryan Jeong
    2025

Syber Sider is an interdisciplinary music and storytelling project set in a fictional universe where emotions, identity, and music collide like soda under pressure. The universe is a mirror of youth’s emotional alchemy — a place where soft, sparkly, and non-conforming identities are seen not as flaws, but as powers. Within this world, the subproject "Can’t Boys Be" focuses specifically on the empowerment of feminine boys. Through a series of original songs, visual storytelling, and character-driven content, the project explores the unique struggles they face — from societal policing of gender expression to internalized shame — and reclaims their softness as strength. The music serves as both a soundtrack and a statement, turning vulnerability into something volatile, fizzy, and full of life. The universe is also visually expressed through animated characters and symbolic soda-bottle motifs, blending emotion, aesthetics, and sound. At its core, Syber Sider challenges rigid binaries and encourages young people to embrace their true, strange selves — before they fizz over.

  • The Eightfold Path by Yexin Kang

    The Eightfold Path

    Yexin Kang
    2025

The Eightfold Path is an alternative hip-hop project by Ye Kang, inspired by the Buddhist philosophy of the Noble Eightfold Path, which emphasizes ethical living, meditation, and the cultivation of wisdom—principles believed to generate good karma and reduce suffering. This project uses this idea as a creative framework, merging it with personal storytelling to further explore themes of identity, spirituality, cultural duality, and inner growth. The project navigates through the life of a Chinese-born artist living in contemporary America. The music blends raw, emotional vocal delivery with a hybrid production style—integrating classic hip-hop sampling techniques with modern electronic production approaches and traditional Chinese instrumentation. • Haku from the Heart by Haku Kim

    Haku from the Heart

    Haku Kim
    2025

This creative project, Haku from the Heart, explores to combine the elements of folk and modern pop. I always loved the honest reflections and stories folk music tells. It is often presented in a most vulnerable arrangement—a simple acoustic guitar with voice. As it centers the emotions carried in the lyrics, folk music creates this intimate connection. However, folk songs often fail to appeal to the larger audience with the lack of interest generated through the simple arrangement and demanding lyrics. As a folk singer/songwriter with an aim to reach a large audience, I wanted to write folk music that can appeal to the mass, just as done by Lizzy McAlpine, Noah Kahan and many other modern Indie/folk artists. The way I approached was by keeping the candid storytelling and the arrangements of folk and adding the modern aspects of Pop—the song structure, melodic shape, the use of the bright and clean vocal treatment, vocal pads and synthesizers. Altogether, I have created my own version of folk/pop through this project, Haku from the Heart.

  • WHAT NEXT??? by Tamara Kramarova

    WHAT NEXT???

    Tamara Kramarova
    2025

WHAT NEXT??? is the third EP from Slovakia-born singer-songwriter and producer Tamara Kramar. It is a heartfelt exploration of love, vulnerability, and self-discovery. From the dizzying rush of new connection in Forest Greens and the ecstatic declarations of commitment in Indigo Gold, to the quiet inner questioning of No Pressure and the emotional turbulence of Back to Earth, the project traces the arc of a young heart learning to feel deeply and honestly. It closes with Silence, a poignant plea for stillness amid life’s noise — a reminder of the importance of finding peace within. Tamara’s characteristic voice and lyricism are allowed to shine through the minimalist instrumentation featuring gently captured acoustic guitars, saturated sample-based drum grooves, catchy bass lines and lush pianos. This, together with the dry lead vocals sitting on a thick bed of backing vocals with heavier processing, create Tamara Kramar’s unique and cohesive sound. Sonically rich and lyrically intimate, WHAT NEXT??? blends indie-folk and soul-pop sensibilities with poetic storytelling, capturing the beauty and complexity of growing up emotionally.

  • TEMPT FATE by Ary Kumar

    TEMPT FATE

    Ary Kumar
    2025

TEMPT FATE is an 8-track concept album that charts the journey of the obsessed artist, confronting both his identity and the limits of his mortality. Over four phases, the project follows this protagonist as he builds, questions, and ultimately reimagines his place in the world. Focused on ideas of fate and predestiny, the project considers many challenging philosophical questions - how real is our past, if we can only access its events through our memory? Does life gain its meaning from death? Can someone live in a fulfilling way if reincarnation proves true? The work invites the listener to ask pressing questions that they otherwise might never consider. Sonically, TEMPT FATE blends alternative hip-hop and neo-soul with elements of jazz, funk, and rock. The production features live instrumentation—most notably saxophone and piano, paired with distorted vocals, gritty drums, and experimental sound design. The album is meant to be experienced as a full, cohesive project, with each track building on the last to form a continuous narrative. The finale of the album invites the listener to consider the way they live their own lives, and how they might set out to live it in a way they couldn’t possibly regret.

  • DREAMER by Danny Lee

    DREAMER

    Danny Lee
    2025

Dreamer; a nebulous word that even a galaxy's worth of poetry could never fully define, representing hope in the vision of a reality that has not yet come to be. Our dreams dictate the trajectory of our lives, our ability to find meaning, and reflect the things that we value. An often overlooked aspect is that our dreams are always connected to the work that we do, whether those dreams are guiding our work or are reflective of our fear to dream, work communicates something about the direction we hope to go in, and work is the process in which dreams become reality. It is often when our dreams and work are not aligned that we struggle with a meaning crisis. That is what this project aims to explore; the intersection between work and dreams within reality. The exploration of this word starts from the student's first person embodied experience of an attempt to pursue the student's dreams within the Capitalistic system that is found within North America. The student is able to use his personal experience to connect it with the greater issues found within our culture today regarding work, meaning, dreams, and play.

  • Find Your Love Song by Hyebeen Lee

    Find Your Love Song

    Hyebeen Lee
    2025

“Find Your Love Song” is a self-produced Contemporary R&B EP that blends ’90s R&B and pop elements with a modern sound. I took charge of the vocals, songwriting, arrangement, and production to develop my own musical language and discover the unique power of my voice. Through this process, I clarified my identity as an artist and realized my own potential. The main theme of the project is unrequited love, with each of the five songs delicately expressing the various emotions and moments within it. I chose the title “Find Your Love Song” hoping listeners would find a song they resonate with and can reflect their own feelings through. This project began as a deep exploration of my identity and musical direction as an artist, serving as a starting point to technically and emotionally organize the kind of music I want to create. Removing “Love” from the title reveals a more essential meaning: “Find Your Song,” where “Your” is directed both toward the listener and myself. Ultimately, this project was a journey of self-discovery to find my true song. I hope my music goes beyond mere sound, reaching listeners with empathy, comfort, and positive energy. This project allowed me to envision such a future.
